    Ever increasing basal need

Hello all, I am a bit desperate and it seems like that healthcare professionals are not really willing to help in my country. My basal insulin need skyroceted during the last few months. I went up more than 10 units in 3 monthes. And its not enough. My sugars are crazy and it seems that I don't...

So I've been experiencing cold feet in the past few days, and it got me worried. I know that there could be a lot of complications with my feet, neuropathy, vascular problems, and whatnot. Obviously it got me really worried, that today morning I woke up with cold feet again. There is nothing...

    Good news are always welcome

3 months have passed since my diagnosis. I was admitted to the hospital with an astonishing 14.3% HbA1C. I had a new blood test last week, I received the results, and my A1C is 5.9%, which is - I would say - beyond perfect. I hope I can keep this value for a long time! Cheers!

New Year's resolution. Going to do it

As I'm sitting here in my room alone, my mind is racing. Why me? I was too afraid to join my friends at a party. Too many people, too loud, so much alcohol and I'm still sooo unsure about a lot of things about my condition. I have been thinking about a while now how to help myself out of this...

Learning the lesson. Flat tire in the middle of nowhere

Hi all! I'm a newby T1. Having a really rough time to adjust to my new 165g carb/day diet. I'm really bad at carb counting, I learned like 5 foods carb values. I know that rice, potatoes and grains usually have about the same amount of carb, around 60-70g/100g. I still make mistakes. Usually I...

How about being "in the zone"?

Do you know that special kind of feeling, the "flow" when you are so preoccupied with an activity (be it work, gaming, or really anything) that you don't pay attention to the passage of time? When your ego starts to become one with that special kind of activity and you are so much in the zone...

Hello everyone! I'm a newly diagnosed diabetic. I still have a lot to learn :D I know that diabetic people should work out regularly, but I heard? read? somewhere that running, cycling, swimming, these kind of activities are recommended, and "classic" body building workouts are not really...

Thinking about the pump option as a T1

Hi everyone! I'm a new member of the T1 club. I have always been an undisciplined, hedonic guy. No routine what so ever, no sleeping schedule. I was fine with it. Okay, it's work day, I have to wake up early, fine, but when it's friday night, I want to go to bed late, and I will sleep in during...
