I was admitted to hospital in January with COVID.. my hba1c was 83 and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Confused on what I’m aiming for

They definitely did an HBA1C test it was 83.. so they believe I was more than likely undiagnosed T2 beforehand.. but think the steroids aggravated it?.. I’m not not sure about the other tests. I wasn’t fully with it when I’m and as soon as I could hold my own without oxygen then I was discharged...

Confused on what I’m aiming for

Hi there, I’m on Humulin M3 - so a mix. I know they did an HBA1C test which I believe was 83.. not sure about the others. I think that I was started on insulin as my blood sugars were so high (high 20’s) due to the dexamethasone that I was on whilst in there. My BMI is high - but am working on...

Confused on what I’m aiming for

Hi all, I was recently diagnosed as T2 whilst in hospital with Covid. I was prescribed insulin when I was discharged (was on an insulin pump in hospital as the steroids were sending my BS levels high). I got a crash course in injecting etc just before discharge. The dn in hospital advised that...

    Covid and Diabetes

Hi, my situation was quite similar to yours.. ended up in hospital in early January with Covid pneumonia and also diagnosed as T2.. the dexamethasone really sent my blood sugars high and I was on an insulin pump and additional shots. Long Covid. A support thread for those who take a while to recover from Covid-19

Thank you.. I was on an insulin pump until the day before I was discharged.. for first few days/week home was 19 or so.. until the steroids left my system.. I had a crash course in injecting and was on my way home. My numbers are lower now.. but would just like to know I’m doing the right...

Long Covid. A support thread for those who take a while to recover from Covid-19

Am not too sure about the process really. I have found out the diabetes nurse is there on a Monday and Friday.. but that was only because I asked if they could up the amount of test strips I was prescribed as only get 100 (2pots) and need more than that.. I got told I had to request the change...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.6 this morning and yesterday.. 5.3 the morning before 5.3. I’m quite new to this so not really sure if that’s good or bad. I just got told that if I have several days of high 4’s or low 5’s to drop my insulin by 2mg

Hi all, I came down with Covid 2 days after Christmas, and by the 6th was admitted to hospital with Covid pneumonia. I also found out on admission that I was type 2 diabetic. I came round after 3 days in critical care connected to an insulin pump with potassium. The dexamethasone played havoc...
