Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Thank you that makes sense. I’ve always had full fat milk and yoghurts, and I do use butter and also olive oils dressings. It’s good to know I can continue with them x

Mmm that makes sense, I’ll keep testing and make a record. I’m just drinking water or tea. Sometimes water with a tiny bit of sugar free cordial in it. X

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi there, Sorry, yes I should have said low carb, I just meant I’d cut out bread/pasta/rice/cereals. Not been back to the doctor to have further tests and I’m not due for another hb1ac test until mid/end June. I am making any sauces I eat, the tomato sauce I make is just a tin of tomatoes...

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hello again @KK123 hope you are ok? I’ve been taking your advice and my numbers are generally a lot better (lots in the green (6.5-8.5) in my app). I am getting a few readings which I thought were a bit high considering what I had eaten but as I’m new to this wasn’t sure?! Could you advise. I’ve...

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Thank you @KK123 I will try that and see how I get on. I suppose I was so worried about losing more weight and having no energy, that I wanted to avoid cutting out carbs altogether and naively thought reducing and changing the types of carbs would be ok. It’s not easy this is it? [emoji22]

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi @KK123, Thanks getting back to me, that’s kind of what I was afraid of. I’m not very good at pushing at the doctor’s, you know that the nurse told me there was no need to test and made me feel like a hypochondriac. My first and only hb1ac test was 69. I’m not due to go back to doctor for...

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi there @KK123, Just a quick update. I’ve been on the medication for over a month now and feeling much better in myself. I still have moments where I feel quite off but not as often. I’ve made changes to my diet, reduced carbs and switched any pasta/rice to wholemeal. I only have 1 slice of...

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi @Elenas, oh dear that does sound worrying. I’ve spent the week eating lots of fish, vegetables and diary so I’ll just have to see how I get on. I’ll buy a pair of weighing scales to keep a check on my weight. I’ve had a very small portion of pasta for dinner a few days this week then fish for...

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi @KK123 yes sorry, I was meaning to message you and let you know. I’d written down your question to ask the nurse when I saw her. She was lovely but I didn’t feel I got much advice. Glad I’ve found this forum! I think I will prob buy a meter xx

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hi @Jaylee I asked the nurse and she said it was 69. I assume that’s not too bad(?) as apart from referral for a scan and taking metformin twice a day they don’t want to see me again for 3 months x

Newly Diagnosed Type 2 Low BMI & Confused

Hello @Elanas I did mention that to the nurse but she said they would not do a test due to my age. How are you getting on? What changes have you made? My nurse was lovely but couldn’t give much dietary advice. I’m a bit underweight already and lost 2Ibs so worried to lose more. Think I’m going...
