    Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

It’s in the limited reading material that says it can lead to stroke or dementia (as can so many other illnesses) that I want more advice. Also now been given a risk score for cardiovascular disease, feel like a ticking time bomb. And I only wanted to know what was wrong with my ear :)

    Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

I’m talking to my GP once I get my bloods checked next week and will be armed with loads of questions for the 10 min telephone call. Hoping they’ll refer me to a specialist in the field (neurology?). Edinburgh and Cambridge universities have significant studies on cSVD but mostly involving...

    Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

Thank you for the reply. Yes I reached out on Health Unlocked too. GP said “what’s your end game?” with the questions I asked and gave me more meds and the usual lifestyle advice. Felt cast aside and unsure where to go after that. May have to get myself back on Facebook.

    Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

Hi everyone. After a 16 month wait for an ENT appointment for ear pain and tinnitus, I found out I had severe hearing loss in one ear. This meant being sent for a MRI from which I was diagnosed with Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (cSVD) in December 2022. I was told it is very unusual for someone...

    Baffled..two differing diabetic retinopathy results

I’m hoping the same happens with me. Scared the living daylights out of me seeing the results saying I had background retinopathy. Have to wait until December for my next screening though.

    Statins

I was offered statins, when I only in for my pneumonia vaccine, a couple of weeks ago. I declined and a note was put on my records that I had declined.

    Some background retinopathy

My result in December said the same. Just as scared but another reason to keep managing my diabetes as best I can.

    Type 2 Blood Results Gobbledygook

Lots of other sets of bloods came back on first review, as well as new HbA1c. The Full Blood Count which was “Satisfactory”. Elevated Red Blood Cell Count and Eosinophil count - observation both “above high reference level”. No idea what this means? Also regarding the cholesterolly stuff...

    First Review Results

Just had a sneak peak at my HbA1c results from yesterday’s first review at 3 months from diagnosis. Says 42 which is down from 123. Haven’t got a clue about all the other blood results. The help on this forum has helped so much.

    Newly diagnosed and need help

Hi @Owlie123 I’ve mostly relied on the DietDoctor website/Instagram, it is so useful for finding good recipes. It also has handy carb diagrams for fruits, vegetables and nuts. I’m only 2.5 months into this journey and understand that it is info overload from all directions.
