Type 1 Highs in the morning

I used to get this too. I was also switched from glargine to treciba which keeps it level really well over night (the glargine would always make it go low in the night, then high in the morning) I'm now doing low carb and no carbs after 8pm. I don't even eat breakfast (don't jump on me lol) but...

    Anything other than Statins?

I hope it's worked for you too :) I was taking the benecol drinks but the price went up so much that I refuse to buy them. They do a cheaper version in tesco but I think they have aspartame in so I stay clear of those now.

    Anything other than Statins?

Yeah I think each individual is different. In your case it sounds like you need them. I'm 31 and they tried to give me statins when I was 29. I said no because my cholesterol is in the okay range and hadn't ever been high but out of curiosity I decided to try and lower it even more by myself and...

    Freestyle libre sensors falling off

Hiya. I buy a load of blue-sky alcohol wipes for my nails but I also use them to clean where my libre will be going. I also discovered some patches to hold the libre on and they are seriously strong but unfortunately my skin has a reaction to them. They are called "patchinga".

Libre link app on phone not working

I'm also having issues with the app. It was fine until I updated it, now it's going slow and always saying "sensor error". Reviews on Google play also suggest there's an issue as people are leaving reviews complaining about this too. Let's hope they sort it out soon.

    Covid booster and flu vaccination

The doctors just say "I doubt it was the vaccine" if you develop issues after having it. My dad had tingles in his arm after having his and he kept saying to the doctor about it but being ignored. Soon after that he had a stroke. It was the astrazenica one he had. I also worked in care for...

What is everyone's opinion on why we have Type one diabetes?

Nobody really knows I don't think. My mum reckons mine was from having a certain vaccine which was a new vaccine at the time when i was little, But we can't go back in time and not have that vaccine to see if I was still diagnosed with type 1. My mum feels guilty but I always say to her that it...

What is the no 1 thing that frustrates you about living with type 1 diabetes?

Everything about it annoys me. I was a carer in my community for 9 years (left a year ago) and my boss was horrible, never gave a sh*t about me as long as she was pulling in the money. She would give me so many clients to go to in a time frame so I was rushing and I'd end up being stressed and...

sugar levels going low at night before period

Hiya. I also get low sugars the week before and during my period. I have to alter my insulin at these times. It must be something to do with hormones. That could be the only culprit. My nurse said for me to reduce my insulin at the time of month it happens so I do this and it helps.

    I feel brain dead sometimes!

I'm 30 years old and been type 1 since the age of 10. Last year I went for my usual check up with the specialist and he was talking about putting me on statins! I refused and asked why. He said it's to minimise risks because it'll help cholesterol. I didn't even have high cholesterol but I...

    Recently Diagnosed

Hey. I'm new to the forum as well. I'm not type 2 but my dad is. They gave him a blood glucose monitor but I've heard so many people with type 2 saying they were never given one.

    Basaglar acting too quickly?

Hi. I had this exact same issue and I was getting lows in the night. Even injecting into my thigh wouldn't make a difference. I was on glargine and I've now been switched to treciba.

    out of control sugar levels

Mine also goes out of control. But mine goes higher the week before that time of the month, and when I'm actually on time of the month I need way less insulin than normal. Its so strange because apparently most women have higher sugars while on time of the month. I was on the pill for 11 years...

I need to learn to be less hard on myself as well. The I always go for stuff which involves pasta or potato. The worst things probably (please don't tell me off lol) What part of the UK are you from? If you don't mind me asking :)

That would also explain why I need more of it now to bring my sugars up than I used to. Your dog is cute by the way :)
