Poll: Yeast Extract - Love it or hate it?

Just for fun :) So I've started having Yeast Extract (we all know the brand but there are others available) on my breakfast toasted Lidl Low Carb Roll and it got me wondering that good old question: Love it or hate it? I love it :D

    Anyone Vaping?

So I've been using an e-cig for about a month now. Started with a basic 650mAh battery with a CE4 Atomiser. Got a Vivid Starter Kit from my local Asda at just £10 :) I then bought a 1000mAh battery and pleased how much longer it lasts. Been quite enjoying it and not missing cigs at all :) I got...

Do Lancet devices get weak over time?

I'm using the GlucoRX lancing device and Lancets and I'm finding it difficult to draw blood when using it. I've had it for a few years now and wondered if perhaps it's gotten weak over time and needs replacing. Do they get weak over time? Can I buy a new one from my pharmacy?

    It works...

So since I was diagnosed Type 2 in November 2009 I struggled to get control of my blood sugars even though I was on the maximum dose of Metformin, Gliclazide and Sitagliptin. I was then put on insulin and still wasn't getting good results. So back in June last year I went on the Newcastle diet...

    Stopped Insulin

I'm type 2 and was put on insulin so I notified DVLA and got my licence changed to a three year entitlement. However, I've had a change of lifestyle, lost five stone and come off all medication including insulin. I've been getting good blood results and my last HbA1c was 5.7 :) My question is...

Lantus users - how many units?

I'm not convinced that the daily Lantus Solostar Insulin is working! I started in February on 10 units and now I'm up to 40 units and still getting the same results [8's and 9's] The results are so inconsistent it's as if the insulin started working then stopped! I eat the same foods and do...

I'm Type 2 on insulin [Lantus Solostar] daily injections. I've only been on it since 11th Feb and haven't been getting the results I'm aiming for so have been steadily increasing the dose by two units every three days. This morning I got a surprise and tested at 6.0 before breakfast. That's the...

    No symptoms

I was diagnosed Type 2 in November 2009. Medication on it's own isn't working so I start Insulin injections on Monday. My last HbA1c was 11.7. The problem is that I have none of the physical symptoms associated with Diabetes so I'm finding it hard to get motivated or take it seriously. Is it...

    Telling DVLA

I'm type 2 and medication isn't working so I will be starting Insulin next week. So it's time to let DVLA know about my diabetes. I went on to their website and downloaded form DIAB1. I've so far learnt that I need to test my blood a half hour before driving and the every two hours of driving...

    Hello :)

Hi all, My name is Jim, 50, and I've been Type 2 for a couple of years now. I've not been controlling my diabetes very well with Metformin, Gliclazide and Sitagliptin. It doesn't help that some of the other medication I'm on increases my blood sugar and I have the occassional naughty habits...
