    Can migraine cause confusion?

Day before yesterday I had an episode that attending paramedics said could have been migraine or a TIA episode. I have had migraines before, but not for some time. Anyhow, I telephoned 111 because I was feeling unwell with 'migraine aura' emitting from my right eye and with chest pains and...

iPhone iOS 17.1.1. and Dexcom G6

In the past I have had text messages from Dexcom, to advise setting preferences prior to each iPhone software download. This time I didn't receive one. I am not sure what other changes iOS 17.1.1. has made to the phone, but yesterday I missed telephone calls because the ringtone has changed...

Why, oh Why???? This new - but not improved - page?

I pop in several times a day to see new postings. Now the current page that opens is so full of other things that the only way that I could find a way to post this comment was to open one of my previous messages. I understand that advertisement revenue is important to you but when it goes to...

Question to Dexcom G6 users about estimated HbA1c.

My estimated HbA1c on G6 gives me better readings than the HbA1c from blood tests. My latest HbA1c was 55mmol/mol whereas G6 estimation was 49. This has been the pattern ever since I started to use Dexcom, some 17 months ago. Does this happen to other people?

Today I have noticed so many new adverts that it is time-consuming just to read any messages. What do I need to do to not be shown any adverts?

Question to Tandem T:slim X2 users

I have a question about which HbA1c figures to trust, the blood test or that shown on the report created from the pump (via Glooko). I’ve just been for an appointment with a hospital diabetes nurse. Unfortunately, a different nurse from the one that I have seen in recent years. My blood test...

question about FreeStyle Optimum ketone sticks readings

Does anyone have an explanation of the readings, please? I telephoned FreeStyle a couple of months ago to tell them that the print in the leaflet inside the box was too small for me to read. They promised to send a larger-print leaflet, but none came. I am asking because last night my reading...

Airports - hand luggage - does medication in separate bags need to be included in weight allowance?

Would experienced travellers, please, enlighten me about seperate bags: I remember seeing something about this a few years ago on the forums, but cannot find it now. I am going on a nine-day holiday, and am hoping to travel with hand luggage only. However, that will be possible only if...

How accurate are HbA1C or Dexcom readings?

I have been using a Dexcom G6 for approximately five months with a t:slim pump. Before I switched to t:slim/Dexcom combination, my HbA1C was 59 (7.5?). According to Dexcom Clarity, my 90-day blood glucose is now estimated to be 6.5%. However, the blood test still shows HbA1C at 59, which I...

What side effects to expect with Colchicine tablets?

I am type 1 and female. Several years ago a GP said that my aches were arthritis but did not send me to a specialist. Just told me to take painkillers. Now that I have an swollen foot with extreme pain, I have been told that I have gout. Again, no investigations, no referral to a specialist...

Is it possible to use 'temporary basal' on t:slim x2?

I found the temporary basal facility on Accu-Chek Insight useful from time to time, and I could have done with it last week. I do not seem to have a similar function on t:slim x2. My my blood glucose was raised four days after a flu jab. I was thinking of starting a new 'profile' but decided...

    Question to t:slim X2 users

I am wondering how you are getting on with the cannulas that go with t:slim X2 pump? I wanted a pump that connects with Dexcom, and this is what my diabetes team was able to offer. I am happy with the pump, but am struggling with the AutoSoft90 cannulas. I find them very time-consuming and...

    Booster vaccine

When my booster vaccine was confirmed, I was told that it would be either Pfizer or Moderna. Has anyone been given a choice at the actual appointment? Considering the awful side-effects that I had with AstraZeneca, I would not want to risk Moderna. Any ideas?

    Fluid restriction

I was trying to start a new thread but unable - perhaps an 'operator fault'. Anyhow, I would welcome advice on fluid restriction. A week ago yesterday, I was admitted (via paramedics and A&E) for hyponatraemia. I was discharged on Wednesday, after blood sodium levels reached 126. I need to...
