Type 1 Dexcom and contraceptive implant

I use the dexcom G6 and wear on the back of my arm. I am considering getting the contraceptive implant but worried I won’t be able to use that arm for my dexcom anymore. Does anyone have this and continue to use the same arm for glucose monitor?

    Dexcom skin reaction

I’ve started getting a reaction to my Dexcom, the last 3 I’ve had to remove early due to itching. The customer services team have suggested using a barrier spray or cream, is there one people would recommend? I’ve used trio Elisse in the past but never found it made much difference. Thanks

    Ypsopump

I have recently been changed to ypsopump from animas and now use pre-filled pump cartridges. I often have more than 50% of the insulin left when I change my set. My question is can I keep using the same cartridge just changing the infusion cannula? It seems so wasteful to throw it away. TIA

    Breastfeeding

I intend to breastfeed and recently saw a dietician who advised trying to express a bit before birth to give to the baby if his blood sugars are low after birth and struggling to breastfeed. Has anyone done this? Just looking for some advice from some diabetic mums Thanks

    24 weeks pregnant

I am 24 weeks pregnant now and this week my insulin requirements have increased significantly. I am really stressing out because my blood sugar is sitting about 8mmol/l most of the day. I am on a pump and have a dexcom CGM so I can see exactly what's happening all the time which is stressing me...

    Accu-chek Mobile Meter

Has anyone else had problems getting mobile test cassettes for their accu-chek mobile meter? My pharmacy told me there was a manufacturing problem and today my diabetes nurse told me they are stopping them. Not sure if that's just on prescription or if accu-chek are no longer making them. Have...

    Pregnant: 18weeks and struggling

Does anyone else suffer from dramatic rises after eating? I find after food my blood sugar shoots up to above 10 even if I was low before eating. My nurse told me to take my insulin 20 mins before food, I am on a pump, but I still find that my sugars increase to a very high level. I have...

Ketones when I have my period

Does anyone else get ketones premenstral? I'm type 1 and on a pump. I recently stopped taking my contraceptive pill and am now getting low levels of ketones in the lead up to my period, my blood sugars are not high. Is this normal? It's making me feel awful.

    Sick days

Are other people off work a lot just with diabetes? I feel like I'm off a lot just because I've had a rough night with high/low blood sugar. I feel awful for having to take time off work with my lame excuse of diabetes but it's like the worst hangover you've ever had. We have to fill in absence...

    Bruised toenail

Hi guys, I was at a gig last Thursday and someone stood on my toe. It's been really sore and today I've noticed a bruise under the nail. Normally I wouldn't worry but as I'm diabetic do you think I should get it looked at?

    Always cold

I am freezing all the time. My mum thinks it's because I'm diabetic, could this be the case?

    Non diet juice

When I'm out drinking I find it frustrating that pubs do not have diet lemonade. My fav drink is peach schnapps and lemonade but I can have it when out in a pub. But then I usually have cider instead and take a wee bit insulin whilst drinking it. Could I just do this for lemonade? Thanks
