Type 1 Diabetes and Eating Disorders research

Hi, I deleted my original thread because I'm changed the format and have made a survey for it to be more accessible and anonymous if need be. I'm collecting research into diabetes and eating disorders for a university assignment I'm working on. It would be great to hear your responses. (and get...

    Lots of lows

I'm trying to get my sugars back in control, I'm finding myself hypo up to 3 times a day and it's so exhausting. I've been a bit lazy with monitoring since I started university in September because I've stupidly been putting my education first. Really need to sort myself out before something bad...

    Insulin Pump: Pro's and Con's

I went to my diabetes check up appointment today and because I'm doing so well my specialist has suggested perhaps going on a pump. I don't know much about how it works, I'm researching now but I was just wondering if any of you could help me weigh out the pros and the cons and your experiences...

    Constant hypo's

So recently I've been hypoing every single morning when I wake up, but yesterday morning I got up, I passed out/was unconscious/was fitting and my family had to call an ambulance. I've had enough now and I need to do something about these hypo's in the morning, I don't know what triggers then...

    Alcohol and diabetes

I was quite worried about drinking at a party at the weekend, however I had 9 glasses of vodka and Pepsi Max, and I was completely fine, obviously I don't drink often. That was the first time in 4 months so I'm happy

    Alcohol

I'm going to a party tonight and I was planning to have a couple of diet cokes mixed with vodka. I'm taking some food with me so my sugars don't drop. Do you think this is okay if I'm responsible? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Chocolate suitable for diabetics.

Recently been on holiday in Cornwall and I found a shop that sold something called 'Raw Chocolate' It is gluten free, dairy free and sugar free. I thought it tasted like very strong dark chocolate. However the only catch is it is £2.25 per 60g bar but when you are going to eat it, you don't eat...

    3 week old Type 1

Very frustrated with this condition, I often feel guilty and beat myself up about it if I eat too much/too little or my sugars are too high. I also thought I was the only one struggling but I've noticed on this site that many people have highs and have problems with their food intake. I have...

Is this too high of carbs?

For my lunch I had 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices of danish bread which are 10g per slice, 2 vegetarian sausages which are 4.8g for both, a small portion of fried mushrooms and 2 hash browns which are 17g carbs for both. Then also a packet of crisps after which were 10g carbs for the packet. So in...

Yesterday I had 2 slices of danish bread, scrambled egg, fried mushrooms, a sausage and some slice of ham and my BS only went up 0.3. I thought this was great because normally I have porridge and it sends it up by about 2. Have you guys found any breakfasts that don't affect you too much...

    Constantly hungry, help

Diagnosed with type 1 8 days ago and i'm struggling with my food - having just 3 meals a day without too much snacking because i'm constantly hungry. Wondering if anyone has ideas on what foods I can snack on or more filling meals.
