Well it's 55 years since I was diagnosed Type1,and still going strong with only a couple of minor complications,I won't be celebrating, just another day of fighting this bloody awful disease. One thing for sure it isn't going to beat me.
Today I was looking through some old papers and found my first prescription certificate and it was dated October 1986,and I never ever renewed it,I guess I must have been lucky.
After nearly 4 years and 9months on a pump I appear to have got my hypo awareness back. This afternoon I had a B/G of 4.2 and hypo signs,so I let it drop to 3.3 before treating and I was very aware of the signs,so here's hoping it will last, but only time will tell.
Received my 1st HbA1c since starting on a pump 6 month ago, very pleased with the result of 5.0.Very similar to my MDI results but 70% less "hypo's""and 42% less insulin.
I had a pig of a day yesterday,I couldn't get anything right and I got really frustrated. After sitting and reviewing my Cgm results I made some adjustments to my basal rates,I had a good nights results and today is going really well.Life is good again until the next time. The other good thing...
I have to make a choice of pump on Friday,I have the choice of the Roche insight or the Meditronic 640g.This is my first pump after over 52 years of injections.Any advice would be very helpful, many thanks
Got my first meeting with the pump DSN on the 14 Sept, just maybe after over 50years of sticking that bloody needle 6 times a day may be coming to end.Wish me luck!

I have 5 blood/glucose meters and, today, carried out 5 tests, one with each meter, from the blood sample and guess what? 5 5 different readings varying from 5.9 and 9.1.Has anyone got any answers ?
