    Im type 2 and low carb really works for me, no rice or pasta and maybe 1 slice of wholemeal or brown bread ( shared cheese sandwhich with the missus) after we get out of the gym. What carbs i do take comes from vegetables, curly kale , courgettes. Ive come off canagliflozin totally about 6 weeks...

    Quick update...about 3 weeks in after dropping to 3 metformin and stopping canagloflozin my post prandial's are sitting in the 5.8 to 6.2 range, a very slight increase from before i dropped my meds but im well happy with them numbers

    I restrict myself to a maximum of 2 slices of wholemeal/ seeded bread a day IF i eat it at all and no rice or pasta, i replace these with kale , courgette, spinach and the very occasional sweet potato, doing this ive managed to drop canagliflozin completely and reduce my metformin

    I now beleive my metformin "stopped working" because of bad eating advice from my diabetic nurse, i have proper researched everything now and i seem to have it sussed ( as far as you can!!) And have stopped my canagliflozin and am still in the 5.2 to 6.2 2 hour postprandial

    Im going alone on this, my docs are completley ignorant about this problem we have, they still push the "healthy eating plate" and tell me not to home test etc. 3 days without my canagliflozin and im back down to 5.5 2 hour post prandial this morning.
