Type 1s: What stupid things have people said to you?

    Feeling sorry for myself today.

I agree with all the others, the fact that you had a day off is totally normal. As we are all aware - Diabetes is with us 24/7 and sometimes gets too much even for those who are well controlled. To take a break now and again is a good idea as my old phrase of little and often reduces the...

How old were you when you first diagnosed with type 1?? And how long do you have it??

I am 49 and was diagnosed on the 14th February 2013 asT1 - what a way to celebrate Valentines Day. This is an awesome thread because those who have had it for some time give us newbies some hope and realisation that it can be controlled and that it doesn't have to rule our lives. Thanks to you...

    Testing before driving

WWood56 - You will need to get your licence changed. I agree with DVLA to test when you start driving and then every two hours there after. If you feel low then test in between times to be safe. Always keep your test kit with you along with your diabetes identification. It is the...

    Tattoos

June79 - I will be more than happy to put a photo on here. Tigger2014 - a bit of a dilemma. You could always have a diabetes tattoo done and leave off T1 or T2 until you are certain. Obvious answer - I know - sorry.

    New hypo symptom?

Not had the twitching eye but agree with DunePlodder, I get the strange lights in my eyes and the centre part appears to be blank - strange. Having had Migraines in the past - I am aware of the similarities. It is obvious enough to warn me about my BG dropping.

    Tattoos

I am due to get my tattoo at the end of March, It appears that if you look after it then there shouldn't be any problems. Common sense about keeping it clean and away from anything that may infect it. Usual stuff with tattoo's. Why not ........... we rule diabetes ..... it doesn't and...

Been Diagnosed One Year On Valentines Day

It has been a real roller coaster over the last year and I have learnt so much and met some wonderful people who also have Diabetes or relatives who have it. It has certainly been an eye opener where a large proportion of people think they know all about it and what they do know is worrying -...

    CGM Beginner

I have read this Post with interest as my Diabetes Nurse is going to get me fitted with one of these as I drive for a living and it will alert me as and when my BG is dropping so I can rectify it quickly and should not hamper my working day.

Uh-oh just injected my nighttime lantus dose as novorapid by mistake, what to do?

I am so pleased things worked out for you. It is all part of learning and living with diabetes - albeit - a very difficult one. Take care
