I'm watching you BT ... Your results make me wonder if I might be a little more adventurous! I'm monitoring the porridge. Next I'm going to try Granny Smith's apple. Both of these are supposed to be good for lowering cholesterol.

Vitamin Supplements and Type 2 Diabetes

I've always had thin hair but it seems to have gone even thinner since the diabetes and I'm very conscious of it. My mum and aunt suffer too but my sister doesn't. I'm wondering what I could do or take?

I've just started a batch with that number, this last few days, but as yet I haven't noticed anything untoward. I don't think! 5.1 fasting this morning. Caffe Nero porridge with soya milk and cinnamon. 1 hour later 6.7 2 hours 5.5 Whilst I don't like the idea of a 6.7 I think it's in range so I...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

I think you will be fine because you aren't changing your low carb regime so your pancreas won't get a huge shock! The meds have been merely supporting your pancreas. I came off the meds because I found they were keeping me too low so I think there was room for a slight increase. With meds my...

I think the briskness is for the benefit of the heart and cholesterol perhaps? Although I don't check rigorously, I think I remember my level elevating after a 30 minute brisk walk. Not by much though and it declined fairly soon after. I'm no expert but perhaps the walk helps our averages, even...

I was going to suggest this. Even 10 minutes can make a difference. Although, I suppose it's all down to each person's body reaction, as with many other strategies.

I've had a 2 month break from testing but now I've begun again because I want to reintroduce some foods. In particular oats, because I want to try and lower my cholesterol levels and I love porridge. Today I used 35g oatmeal (courtesy of my daughter, I prefer the normal type) with water...
