    Fish spas

I love pedicures, love having my feet rubbed by my other half (both of which are rare occurrences these day). I went to the fish foot spa place with my sister who loves it - I hated it! Couldn't stand the little beggars getting in between my toes. Yuck. Never again!!!! Sent from the Diabetes...

It's awful, I feel so desperately inadequate - Mums are supposed to be able to make everything better. I hope this Mother's Day I've stumbled across something that will change her life! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Type 2 and PCOS and Metabolic Syndrome, Oh My!

I too have Type 2 and have had PCOS for about 20 years. My youngest daughter (18) has had HS for about 5 years. It's an awful, debilitating condition. Do you think there's some link between these conditions??? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Celebrate good times!

Me too - would be good to find a 'meal plan' for one evening of the week so I can stop overthinking this :-| Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Iron consumption very low

Also, I don't tend to drink anything with a meal - much to my Irish parents disgust - they drink tea every ten minutes ;-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

I used to try and drink a small glass of fresh juice when I took my iron tablet but have given that up since being diagnosed with diabetes :-/ Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Iron consumption very low

Totto - I've always hated everything about offal - the smell, the taste, the texture and I suspect that's a lot to do with the very thought of it. I'm not opposed on principle, if people like it then that's great - as you say it's packed with nutrients - it's just not for me. Sent from the...

    Iron consumption very low

I can't eat liver or eggs - never been able to abide either. But I'm very happy to eat red meat, green veg, spinach, chickpeas etc so should be ok. I think anaemia runs in the family so I also take a multivitamin with iron. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Is 'Free From' pasta a good alternative for Type 2s??

That's helpful, thanks. I've bought a codefree blood glucose monitoring system. It only came with 10 strips so I've ordered more. Just need to get the hang of testing. From what I can tell, I should test before every meal and two hours after. I tested this morning when I woke up and it was 9.7...

    Iron consumption very low

Thanks. That's a relief! Other than liver, I like and eat all of those things. I've been looking out foe a good lentil/chickpea curry recipe which sounds like it would be a good option for me. Thanks again. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Gymophobics

Thanks for the link. I used the calculator. It's a bit difficult to find the right exercise type. Have you been to Gymophobics? It is a 30 resisted tension 'circuit' - 8 machines and two floor exercises. You do 3 mins at each station. You essentially pump air into the machine which creates the...

Is 'Free From' pasta a good alternative for Type 2s??

OMG - what is the point of the 'of which sugars' bit then? How can I possibly only eat between 50-60g of carbs a day without eating a meat only diet?? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Iron consumption very low

I've been using myfitnesspal for a week to try to understand more about the food I'm eating and what is good/bad for me. The main thing I'm concerned about is my iron intake. I've not managed to get it above 15% this week, today is only up to 5% so far. I do take a multivitamin with iron but...

Is 'Free From' pasta a good alternative for Type 2s??

My daughter-in-law has a gluten allergy and eats pasta made from maize and rice rather than wheat. On the label it says it has 78.5g of carbs per 100g but only 0.5 of that sugars - is that good??? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Now very confused. I've been taking an iron supplement for some time. I now wonder if that might have given a skewed reading on the diabetes test. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
