    Off Days

You are not alone, I call them Diabetes days, you just feel washed out and tend to sleep most of the day. The following morning all back to normal. Personally the frequency is about once a month but I've never been able to see any sort of pattern and it's definitely not related to sugar levels...

    Diabetic Macular Oedema

I had over 30 Lucentis injections hence my user name. It's virtually painless in fact the worse part is the eye drop before hand which stings for about 20 seconds. The main anesthetic jab is hardly noticeable as a result and the main jab painless. Overall it's about on a par with having a tooth...

    Metformin

Vote number 3 for slow release. Was on two x 500 mg normal metformin and found any physical activity sent me hypo. Switched to 1 x SR and almost no problems at all.

    rashes

No longer on glicazade but I do suffer terribly with rashes, mainly in the groin and hip areas but also around my neck. Tried all sorts of things and some work temporarily but have found a combination of Canestan for one day and Witch hazel for 3 days to be the best compromise. Witch hazel in...

Does Diabetes make you itchy ?

A little update. Tried moisturiser with little effect but by chance was given a shower gell with locked in moisturiser for xmas. Its Avon senses xtreme 2 in 1 and seems to be doing the trick, I just use a dab of canestan about every three days now, so well pleased. Had my second Hba1c and...

Does Diabetes make you itchy ?

Severe Itching in the cease of the groin. Becomes apparent after my evening (main meal of the day) and again in my sleep when I overheat. I'm told it's a form of thrush as my body is sweating out excess insulin? Doc prescribed Canestan which does help but only for a few days then the cycle...

    Free downloads from DUK

Am I alone in becoming irritated by having to fill out the same information every time I want to download the free stuff from the newsletters? Now there is even an optional join the forum section, however it won't allow me to continue until it's filled in. The point is would I get the...

    Another boring newbie

Well thanks for the greeting all, very pleasant. I popped into my surgery and used my suave charms on the nurses, they all swooned at my chaming manner although It may have been the head butt that swung it....... So I now have a shiney new test meter and a printout of my original test results...

    Another boring newbie

Thanks for that Andy, I'm not really that grumpy, just had a series of ongoing medical problems (see my profile for details) humour is actually my natural defence mechanism. They did arrange for my retinal screening which came back clear. Lady there was very understanding and helpful, she...

    Another boring newbie

Hi all, been lurking a while since being diagnosed type 2 about 7 weeks ago. Very dissapointed with the diabetes nurse at my GP clinic. I don't have any of my readings, just a comment they were very high, as were my chloesterol levels. No testing kit and no indication as to follow ups. All I...
