    New symptoms.

Have an idea that Libres can be bought for about £35 in some Asda Pharmacies. We self-funded here in France for a while until it became readily available on prescription. Well worth it in my opinion.

Hi, we are retired in France. T1 56 years A1 thingy 5.3%. Here I use Libre with a MiaoMiao Bluetooth sender, Fiasp insulin & an Omnipod tubeless pump. Have little hypo awareness hence I check BS with my watch & phone. Would love a Dexcom G6 but only the G5 is available here at the moment. I...

Theresa May Misleading People Regarding Glucose Monitor

She replied with a half-truth aka a lie or, in my opinion, worse than a lie since it is misleading & hypocritical. We retired to France & I bought them as soon as I heard about Libré. Since a year ago last June they have been available with an ordonnance/prescription & my control has been the...

    Abasaglar & Nocturnal Hypos

Thanks. I do trust the Libré unless the results are crazy in which case I blood test. I could experiment with taking Abasaglar earlier so that I could avoid the LO. I think Abasaglar is a cheaper version of Lantus-sorta out of patent. "Abasaglar (previously known as Abasria) is biosimilar to...

    Abasaglar & Nocturnal Hypos

Hi, I have Abasaglar long acting insulin pre sleep. Problem is if the dose is too low I get a waking HI. However, if I increase the dose typically it will be perfect for a couple of nights then, like last night, I will get a LO. I use a Libré & contemplating a MiaouMiaou to give me alerts & also...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I think for me it shows bureaucratic misunderstanding of how the Libre works! With UK driving law you cannot rely exclusively on the Libre when driving due to its relative inaccuracy & the delay comparing interstitial to blood glucose. Seems that their thinking is one or the other. I use a...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Hi just had this This is a DCUK test post, aligned to test condition 129 I have now been using the Libre for months & wouldn't want to be without it-so useful. I use a Samsung S7Edge to monitor on the move & double check with my Accu-Chek Mobile if need be. So doing anything physical-mowing...

Genital Itching/Stinging Pubic Area (External Not Internal)

Hi Eridu, Sounds like your medical people are irritants for you. Maybe read Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. He followed the American Diabetic Associations guidelines & got sick! He used one of the first blood-sugar meters to monitor exactly what was happening & came up with a low-carb diet...

    Freestyle libre

Hi from France where it is pretty cold today for a change! I've not seen a diabetic specialist doctor for years, last time was years ago when we still lived in Derby. Had to wait for hours past my appointment & we agreed it was a waste of our time since I was fine. The estimated HBA1c from...

    Freestyle libre

Hi, we live in France & I've been using the Libre for some months. Worth it? Costs €62 per sensor that lasts 14 days-I started with the reader & 1 sensor kit. I now use it with with a new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge & it works fine though you need to check that your Android phone will work. Use the...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Hi, we are retired to France now & I bought my kit over here. Get consistent next day delivery. Given that the reading is 15 minutes behind the 'now' blood-sugar I find them pretty accurate. My Accu-Chek Mobile gives mmol readings, but the readings from the French meter gives the 'continental'...

Stress, the cause of type 1

Interesting question. My dad died of a heart attack when I was 11-I had been playing tennis with him & my mother blamed me for his death in her grief & anger. 6 years later I had flu-like symptoms, became dehydrated & was admitted to hospital-diagnosis diabetes mellitus. My mother said this was...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I'm afraid almost everywhere you have to buy it. I believe it's free in Belgium! Here in France I have a carte vitale ALD that means I do not have to pay for diabetes related stuff. We have to have a secondary insurance & when I spoke to them they suggested I speak to my doctor then apply to...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

LibreLink make an app that can be used in certain Android phones, including the new Samsung Note, to get readings from Abbott Sensors. The benefit for me is that I wouldn't need to carry or buy an Abbott Reader, so making mobile monitoring easier. The joke that obviously escaped you was that the...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Sounds quite unreliable. For me when I am exercising I may have a 'safe side' biscuit. However, if I don't really need it then I'll be high. Overall the objective is better balance plus the opportunity to switch to one of these exploding Samsungs to check BS on the move. :)
