    Diverticulosis

Thank you for replying Since moving to low carb years ago I have had chronic constipation to be honest. I consume plenty of olive oil Btw. Now constipation isn’t great but as my diabetes nurse tells me my blood sugar recently was equal to pre diabetic levels I figured it was a reasonable trade...

    Diverticulosis

Thank you but I could have put the red crosses in myself. Is your suggestion I accept bowel cancer as a reasonable risk in my life ?

    Diverticulosis

thank you for taking the time to reply. YES I do want to identify useful low carb higher fibre meals. I do not want to follow the suggested foods from the diverticulosis diet sheet. Dad had diverticulitis and then colon cancer subsequently. He died of this. He didn’t die of type two or it’s...

    Diverticulosis

Hello all In terms of my type 2 diabetes, since discovering low carb way of eating I have been doing very well. Diagnosed 2001 not yet made it to insulin and never want to go there. My dad died with bowel cancer and I have some pre cancer changes to my bowel. As you can understand I am keen...

    Ozempic Supply Shortage

Just found out I can’t get my Ozempic prescription. I have no jabs left. I lost weight and gained excellent control on this med. I was told the medication was expensive and if I didn’t lose weight and do my bit then insulin was next. So clearly I did just that !! Now no Ozempic left. Going back...

T2, need to get back to the grind

This strikes so many chords with me. Found mum unconscious on the floor Christmas Day. #broken pelvis. Lost dad before that. Recently mums dementia diagnosis. Every time I have a big upset I go turn to destructive eating. I couldn’t even call it comfort eating, more self harm, eat any rubbish...

    Ozempic

Flipping loving it ! Mild nausea only. Jab less painful than finger testing. Hunger fell off a cliff and lost 1.5 stones. High blood sugars no longer really high but back within normal range. No insulin. Hurrah !

    Have I completely sabotaged myself?

I had major set back too during lockdown. I am getting my eating back on track but I have also asked to try Oxempic, this is working for me and has supported significant weight loss. Anything to avoid insulin for longer.

    Ozempic

Hello all. I have been on Ozempic for one week now. Really getting on well with it. Using the reduced appetite it has given me to drastically reduce my intake and try some fasting too. Blood sugars coming down as is weight. No nasty gastric side effects. My motivation.? They have offered me...

    Type 2 Ozempic

The next tablets available are sulphonylureas ☹️ I think the mechanism whereby insulin causes weigh gain is this. When your blood sugar dips, not even to dangerous levels just to markedly lower levels, one feels really unwell. Reactive hypoglycaemia ( been there) This awful feeling is relieved...

    Type 2 Ozempic

I have followed LCHF most of the years. Eat very destructively during lockdown. (Grief) Can’t go back to lchf as the extra weight means my blood sugars too high. Not happy to walk around with high sugars as I slowly lose weight. So yes I need to exercise and reduce my intake but after 20 years...

    Type 2 Ozempic

Hello. The Corona Stone that I (and many others) gained in lockdown knocked my diabetes control out of whack. I have been type 2 for 20 years but never want to do sulponylureas again [emoji33] Thankfully I am being allowed to try Ozempic for three months. If it doesn’t produce desirable results...

Type 2: Stress eating during COVID

Hello Harry You too!! Glad to know it’s not me. I started as super virtuous as I know good glucose control was the best way to reduce risk of Covid complications should I become infected. But then I got bored of doing all the household chores I had been putting off! Started missing the...

    COVID 2019 Comorbidity with Diabetes

Seems logical. I began by deciding lock down was a good time to drill down on exercise and weight loss. Went really well, however as lockdown has gone on I have become rather low, shopping is hit and miss. (Others go for me) so I am eating stuff I would normally never eat like bread. Blood...
