I am so happy with the results! Here is some graphs of the last 5.5 days of BG readings (yes, I test a lot!).

Fantastic result Janelle. :)

BTW. Could you please tell us if you are type1 or type2 etc, and what medications you're taking. It would give a bit more context to those graphs.

Type 1. Lantus, Novorapid & Metformin :)

That really is fantastic. You've cut out all the highs and even brought the lows up too. Have you had to change your dose at all?

If I could spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious I'd say it's that.
I wonder how the NHS would explain it.

My Lantus dose hasn't changed (19 units). I am still getting low BG in the night with 19 units so I tried 18 units last night. As expected, I woke up with my BG climbing. I expected that would happen because 18 units has never been enough and 19 units has always been too much. I thought I would try out the lower dose again since I'm now doing low carb and was hoping that it would be enough but nope. So I've decided I will just have to live with 1 low BS each night until I get my pump in about 4 weeks.

My Novorapid dose has lowered significantly though. Usually I would take about 10-20 units a day and now I'm taking 2-5 units a day.

I'm getting a pump in 4 weeks and have to go on a week long course. I don't know how I am going to keep my mouth shut when they start talking about diet...

That is so great. :)

How are you feeling on LC?
Apart from the obvious BG steadying effect, I mean.
I've been feeling good on LC apart from extremely tired but I'm not sure if that's related to the LC or not.

I had a bad day yesterday and had a high carb meal for dinner. I regretted it immediately afterwards when I saw my blood sugars creeping up. They peaked at 13.0 which made me feel so guilty. I managed to get back down to 8.2 before bed only to wake up with a reading of 16.8!! I'm not entirely sure why it went so high but It was definitely a wake up call to stay away from the high carb meals!

Yes, I've been having a lot of bacon and eggs and fatty cuts of meat. I've also been choosing salad dressings which are high in fat, cooking with butter, eating almonds, avocados, cheese etc

Join Pinterest and search typeonegrit. They have recipes in categories, ie breakfast, lunch etc.

I just googlied "low carb recipes" and heaps of ideas came up. My first few days consisted of a lot of bacon and eggs because any excuse for bacon right? Also a lot of salads and roast vegetables (non-root vegetables) and dark chocolate for a treat.
