A year or so back, I participated in a trial for the Freestyle Libre. Since then I have been unable to access further sensors. First it wasn't available in my area. I joined the group for access for all as well as lobbying my MP. My MP wrote back to me and said he had personally asked the hospital to make it available for all. However my hospital are still refusing access for all. You have to be pregnant or TTC, have loss of hypo symptoms, or have to take 8+ tests per day. I suffer with painful hands and fingers and finger pricking is extra painful so I do not test as often as I should. My consultant said it was lack of funding so they had to hold the purse strings very tight. He also said that Abbott had not come up with enough evidence to prove it was beneficial enough in improving control. I would be interested to know what the current UK situation is concerning CGMs and access to them. Do I just live in the wrong postcode?
