Hi guys,

First post here - my girlfriend has type 1 diabetes and is always complaining of her joints aching, especially her knees and ankles, along with a lot of cramp in these areas. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and is related to diabetes? If so, did you come up with any remedies? I'm open to any suggestions,

Thanks,

Alex

I get the same - thought I was just getting old !

Muscle cramps might possibly be related to fluctuating blood sugars, you can read up about this here,

.......I've seen others on the forum relate it to not having enough salt in the diet.

Although nobody on the forum can diagnose your girlfriend over the internet, T1 is an auto-immune condition and as some of us are more likely to experience related conditions - even if your blood sugars are under control.
