Advice, high breakfast blood glucose readings which used to be low

Why not try skipping breakfast altogether. Test when you get up then 2 hours after and see what has happened. Every day for a week. That will establish a baseline of what your bloods do without external stimulus (food). Have tea or coffee but keep that consistent.
 
I think that this is linked to the early morning rush. I take my BG as soon as I am dressed and it's usually about 5.5. However, having done inhalations, tablets, and tea for my elderly parents. Folded washing, fed the birds and packed my lunch in a chill bag and then flapped off to work, my BG is 7.0 to 8.0, but on occasion as high as 10.0. Welcome to the Cortisol effect...
