Advice, high breakfast blood glucose readings which used to be low

Ah that is a good question, my eldest has a form of Autism and it's always a rush (tried everything in the book, believe me), and lots of calling to come down, get shoes on, have you got your PE bag etc etc. I haven't tested at the weekend so will see if there's a difference, but I typically end up eating my yoghurt and oats as fast as possible as I've spent time "kid rounding up" at I've said on more than one occasion if I could have a zip straight to stomach I'd be happy - this is just breakfast, other meals aren't rushed.

I can't eat cheese but I can try egg/bacon/ham instead then see what happens with readings afterwards.

My aim is to try to reverse Type 2. So I'm pretty determined to get it right, so this has thrown me.

Thank you so much for your suggestion.
Why not try skipping breakfast altogether. Test when you get up then 2 hours after and see what has happened. Every day for a week. That will establish a baseline of what your bloods do without external stimulus (food). Have tea or coffee but keep that consistent.

I think that this is linked to the early morning rush. I take my BG as soon as I am dressed and it's usually about 5.5. However, having done inhalations, tablets, and tea for my elderly parents. Folded washing, fed the birds and packed my lunch in a chill bag and then flapped off to work, my BG is 7.0 to 8.0, but on occasion as high as 10.0. Welcome to the Cortisol effect...
