I've been seeing articles talking about fat loss for the obese and how it will help lower insulin resistance bringing people to normal or near normal levels... but I hadn't heard anything about lean people like me and what causes our insulin resistance till now...

Apparently for us lean people... it's the exact same situation, the fat's just in a slightly different place. For us the fat is intangled in our muscles... When our muscles need energy they don't need glucose, why turn to it when there's so much sitting RIGHT THERE... If we want to lose our insulin resistance one of our only chances may be to decrease the fat and increase the muscle.. exercise has got to be the way, plenty of weight training.
Edit: more on the issue
