I'm a Type 2 diabetic and have been struggling to get my glucose levels down since I was diagnosed a couple of years ago.
I was put on insulin about august last year and have been adjusting my dose every 4 or 5 days to bring my levels down, which it has from an average of 13 to 8.5, my question is, is this still too high, its worth mentioning that before insulin it wasn't unknown for my blood sugar to be 16 or 17

I think its too high but you are getting better. Just dont stop on these levels

For people with diabetes, blood sugar level targets are as follows:
Before meals: 4 to 7 mmol/L for people with type 1 or type 2 diabetes
After meals: under 9 mmol/L for people with type 1 and 8.5mmol/L for people with type 2

Thanks for the advice, I'm on 90 units at breakfast 90 tea time however I am 29 stones, I can never seem to get hold of my diabetic nurse so I'm not sure if I should keep increasing my levels or not.
