Poverty, violence, manipulative or materialistic people and too much bad weather such as wind and rain.
My best friend has arthritus and as far as I understand it isn't in any way related to diabetes. Her mum had it though which made me think it was possibly hereditary but in your case it doesn't appear so. Hers is a rather severe case of arthritus and she is on chemo but she is finding certain physio exercises, going to the gym and her chemo and anti-inflammatories are helping her. She also takes milk thistle as the medication can affect her kidneys and this is known to be a kidney purifier. However I'm not sure what medicine you are on and you should discuss any changes with your GP not rely on my advice alone as everyone is different. Also to aid your arthritus there could be certain foods which could help or hinder it. Also moderate daily exercise is known to help arthritus sufferers also. I know from the advice my friend was given by her GP that swimming is very beneficial. Be sure to check it all with your GP though - hope this helps :)

Grrr just typed a reply and it disappeared. I was advised to look at the link via PM and indeed it does state that arthritus can be related to diabetes  That's something they never taught me at school. Mind you they didn't tell me tarsol tunnel syndrome and frozen shoulder was related either and I have both of them. I stand corrected :|

There is a link between rheumatoid arthritis and type 1. They are both autoimmune diseases. I don't know a lot about it but try googling Type 1 diabetes AND rheumatoid arthritis In the end though, it doesn't really matter whether its connected or not. The links posted above and useful info on dealing with it will be far more useful in the end. I hope that you are being referred to a specialist.

Hi Rachel.sorry you got frozen shoulder as well.I got that a few years ago and doctor kept telling me to exercise my arm and shoulder,he kept giving me painkillers etc and sent me for physio.I thought id broke my arm at first the pain was awful especially worse at night in bed.Anyway i had an operation was only in hospital for about 4 days but its never bothered me since. The only medications i am on is novorapid with each meal and lantus.I do not take statins because i am scared they may cause more problems but the doctor at hospital said i must take them and i havnt!!!What is tarsol syndrome?im dozy ive never heard of it.Maybe all us diabetics on insulin get all these problems because of insulin but what alternative can we take?I think i will start going swimming again maybe that will be good for me.I do enough exercise and never really sit down (except when i have a quick go on computer while all family are at work !!).What are you doing for your frozen shoulder?I must have been going to the docs for about a year before he sent me to hospital.
