As If Winter Wasnt Bad Enough...

As if winter isnt bad enough with all the misery, stress, and illness it already causes, apparently now it has a connection with the onset of diabetes (type 1) in kids below the age of 15!

Why does winter have to exist?, and why do i have to live in a wet and miserable country instead of living it up on a tropical island somewhere!

Mmm really? Winter may cause diabetes? It seems like someone scratching at another time wasting "theory" to me. Still they'll probably get some cash to explore their ideas.

The piece says
"The study, published in the journal Diabetic Medicine, also found that diabetes centres further away from the equator were more likely to have greater numbers of new cases in winter."

But they don't mention the lack of diabetic Inuits or the vast numbers of diabetics in the hottest states in the US, I guess that might mess up their figures a bit.
P.S. The Inuits have only started seeing diabetes (and co-insidently tooth decay) since companies like McDonalds and Coca-Cola have started trading in their areas.
