Did a long waffling post earlier and then deleted it. Second and more concise part 2.

Today I had an egg and a couple mushrooms for brekkie. Lunch was half an egg and cress sarnie shared with my daughter while out shopping. Did a bg before 3 hours later before main meal because hubby was worried that I looked ill and was very flushed, result was 11.1.

I stopped taking my anti-depressant medication last Friday and for the past two days have been experiencing some very unpleasant symptoms, today I had some nasty physical ones. Obviously this is causing me a deal of stress but could the stress raise the bg by that much?

I usually run between 5 and 6 premeals, no more than 7.8 or 9 afterwards. Have cut lots of carbs this week to try and drop a few pound quickly so I don;t think it can be the food?

Comments welcome, thanks.

In my experience, yes.

Had 4.5-6.5 results for 3 weeks before surgery a couple weeks ago, now am having 7s, and 8s and a few 10+.

That is with insulin - trying to catch up but it proves a bit of hassle - have had infection etc, but only on/off fever so it's not superpredictable.

It a different kind of stress, I know, but stress hormones from anxiety etc can cause it to spike quite a bit. I know the SSRI 'flu', it's not pleasant - normally better to gradually reduce if possible as it can be quite stressful otherwise.

However, give it a bit of time and keep an eye on it, but don't fuss for a few days unless you get really high results (14+). If you do, then you need to be a bit more proactive. Otherwise I'd say keep doing what you know is right, and wait a bit.

Yes definitely. I would suggest trying to eat stuff you know is pretty safe and then don't test for a bit especially if you feel tense or stressed as you'll find it will just make it worse When you're feeling better and calmer start up again If i end up doing that the first test I restart from is one last thing at night and I'll try and unwind during the evening with a bath and a nice drink or such like.
