Tried something this morning. Did a fasting Bg and it was under 7. Just for a laugh I got on the cross trainer and 10 mins exercise then re-measured.... it was just over 7! Whaaaaaat?!
I had not eaten in the meanwhile, just been having a cuppa (no milk or sugar o/c). Before my meds.
I presume this is a variant of a liver dump?
Other times I have used the cross trainer after meals later in the day and it drops my BG sometimes by as much as 2 or 3 points so it is very useful.
Any comments welcome.

Having no energy as this is so limiting.

I think you are right, especially as you say it would normally drop your readings by 2-3 points. The cross trainer is a piece of equipment that 'eats' your energy/calories so your liver probably dumped a fair bit, most of which you burnt. :)
