Called my DN today as my first tub of test strips have run out (tub of 50).

Although see has written me a prescription for another she did say the PCT have a strict limit of only 4 tubs per annum.

Anyone else been told this?

I have to pay for these on prescription.

Having no energy as this is so limiting.
No but, following my first Diabetes Clinic, I saw my GP to ask her to add testing strips to my repeat list (at the request of the consultant) and the pained expression on her face said it all!

I guess once I've exhausted my 4 tub annual supply via the DN I could plead ignorance of the fact and go along and see my GP and see if he would prescribe more for me.

I've had a look on ebay and the cheapest I can buy them for on there is £15 per tub. Having paid £28 for a 3 month pre paid prescription I will ask my DN to prescribe the remaining two tubs for me before this prescription runs out in March.

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
My PCT limit well controlled T2s who don't use insulin to 2Tubs per year. They arren't any more generous with Sulphonylurea users as far as I know.
