@sammymcgoff . 8.4 is a perfectly acceptable reading, in fact very good. If I may suggest, and this is what a lot of folks do to get the best out of these fingerpick tests is to test just before you have eaten and then two hours after. This way you can see how well your body has coped with the food you have eaten. If your blood sugars are over 2 mmol/ls over your first reading then you know you have consumed more carbs than your body can handle.
Everyone’s blood sugars rise after a meal, diabetics and none diabetics alike, it is how quickly your body can deal with those carbs that matter.
