Just got back from my first appointment with the dietician. I was diagnosed in Sept 2008.I am absolutely over the moon, chuffed and delighted. I have lost a stone in weight since mid November. She said that the way I am attacking my diet is brilliant Her only comment was that I should be eating a modicum more carbs with each meal. She was really understanding and kind, asking me lots of questions but gaving me lots of time to answer and say what I thought. I went in to see her feeling completely shattered from work and lots of walking, I was wet as I have been drenched twice today plus my shoes were wet inside, all I wanted to do was have a good soak in a nice hot bath. I left the dietician feeling absolutely full of life and fit. I did sing the praises of the internet most of the time, one site in particular, wonder which one that was?
It was brilliant. It's given me so much incentive to carry on with all the hard work. It's made it all worthwhile.
Thank you all SO MUCH for putting up with my silly questions and listening. A glass of bubbly to each and everyone of you.

Great News! where is this fantastic dietician? Wee just have carb hounds here

I am borderline diabetic and obviously am so pleased with my diatician visit today but I do appreciate that so many of you have enormous problems wih diet, bs levels etc. Can I only wish you well and hope you might return from a medical apointment and feel as happy as I do today. Best wishes to you all.

Broads that's great news, and so glad that we were able to help you.
