Hello all,
I know this may sound odd, but can nightmares/bad dreams at night, make you high in the morning? I had a vivd bad dream last night, and then I woke up with a 10.3 this morning :!: :?: :?
Is it possible the bad dream caused this because of adrenalin? Or do you think it was just a coincidence?
Has anyone else experienced this too?
Thanks,

I have found stress makes me high in the mornings so it could be similar to your highs after nightmares. I think it's quite possible that the nightmares could have caused your levels to be high.
Bowell has a good point here - just before my diagnosis I was having terrible nightmares and bad dreams - even sleep walking on a couple of occasions! - since getting my BS down after diagnosis had no more problems with nightmares (not the sleep kind anyway! )
Yes, I'm pretty sure a bad dream can make you high. My daughter wakes with nightmares sometimes and almost guaranteed she'll be high. Her overnight BG is very stable now that she's on the pump but if she has a bad dream the reading goes up. I don't believe she's having a bad dream because of a high reading, I think it's the other way around.
When you are having a nightmare you are in a stressed state, as stress has the tendancy to elevate bg when awake then yes it's possible that your bad dream resulted in your 10.3 reading.
Yes that is a good point :!: however I don't think it is this was round for me, because I have been high in the morning a couple of times when an airbubble in my pump appeared and I didn't get a nightmare then.
I like the scary face
Thanks again,
