being lectured by my husband about my diet and medicine
My blood sugar seems to be have been some what under control with a few highs. But they always came down the next day .I was on the following medication for several months.
Januvia 100 X1, Ameryl 2mg X 3, Metformin 500 X 5. Insulin Lantus glardline 42 units. I was getting Hypo about twice a month. Then suddenly my FBS stayed up over 200 (12) for about 10 days. I increased insulin (lantus glargline) from 42 units to 46 and ameryl from 6 to 8 mg . And left the other medication as it was. But it did not make any difference and I got Hypo one time.
Then I went to see a specialist who was worried about my Hypo because of my age and heart problems. She said I was taking too much medicine and she reduced it to to 2x 4mg Ameryl and 40 units insulin and discussed my diet. But now my FBS is still very high. So what can I do? I increase the medicine and get Hypo or I decrease the medicine and get high blood sugar
.> I seem to be in a no win situation and I am very worried that I will soon start to get complications.
I have had diabetes for nearly 10 years and am 67 . I do not drink or smoke and I try very hard to control my diet and take some exercise but it is difficult with osteoarthritis

Having to take so many medications, having little energy.
My best friend living so far away in scotland.
Bloody go government benifit changes that help scroungers and not those who really need help.
Have u altered ur insulin levels by much, maybe u are trying to add or reduce it by too much, my nurse tried a four point reduction but this was too much, so we decided to do it more slowley at one unit at a time for a week at a time and then review it again, if all goes well then do another unit and so on.
I am a newbie and only diagnosed for the last couple of months and you have been doing this for years i expect, so im sorry if ive said anything out of turn.
Good luck and merry christmas xxx

in india there is a simple solution i do not know whether it works in uk but people says that walking barefoot on grass in the early morning is very helpful for the long term diabetic patients try this but one condition the grass should be wet with the mist or dew . may be its a myth but i heard that people were benefited by this process good luck
