Type 2 Cereals

Is the consumption of 4 Weetabix detrimental to type 2 diabetes?
Hi comrade and welcome to the forums.

If I recall correctly four weetabix come in somewhere over 100g carb, being around 70% carb by weight. Milk will add additional carb in the form of lactose. Google will tell you what the manufacturer claims.

I aim for a daily intake of about 20g carb, so four weetabix would be equivalent to five days' carbs in one go. I wouldn't have one, let alone four.

I have a higher carb max, it was 85g a day for me but no more than 30g in one meal.
The only way to know how many carbs you can safely eat is to get a meter and test before then 2 hrs after meals.
I tested every meal every day at first until I understood how my body reacted to meals, then only for a new food/recipe.

My personal view would be extremely bad, try testing one and seeing the reaction. Then you will know how they affect YOU, then you can decide for yourself, if they are worth it.

As a low carb diet controlled T2 eating a less than 50g carbs a day, those Weetabix alone before adding milk or sugar would be over two days worth of carbs, so I'm with @KennyA : definitely NOT even one would be acceptable for me.

But as already suggested, you could use a meter to check before and after eating so see how they might affect your glucose levels.

That would depend on whether or not the person with diabetes is taking medication. With insulin, the carb content could be mitigated by adjusting dose.
As others posting here have already pointed out, the high carb content of the 4 weetabix, without medication to lower glucose levels, would be far too much carb content. So that would probably be detrimental in that it would raise the blood glucose levels.
The best way for an individual to know how various foods affrct their blood glucose levels is for them to use a meter, and test before eating, then two hours after.
