I am about to eat some black cherries picked in our garden. The Calories Carbs and Fat Bible says they contain 11.5 carbs per 100 g. Would anyone know if this would be with or without stones as it makes a lot of difference? Can they be bought without stones?

My different carb book doesn't make it clear either, but am very envious of you....home grown and hand picked black cherries.....wow...so, so envious!!!

Thanks for looking DD. We only get a few as the birds get all the rest

Daisy, I use 10 'normal' sized cherries =10g carb. That includes stones. It's a rough and ready measure but it seems to work for me.

The first time I read this thread, I thought: 'why would you eat the stones? Surely that's taking low carbing to extremes!'

Clearly not enough coffee this morning!

Thanks Phoenix
Working that out it makes 22g of carbs for me. Since I am on 30-40g carbs it's just as well the birds will get the rest
