Hi I’ve been poorly all week with a coeliac flare up and this weekend starting to feel better. However my usual insulin 1-10 novorapid is lowering my sugars far too quickly- I’m also on Tresiba 7 units at night.!
So last night I physically had to eat an extra 50g carbs to stop me hypoing and this morning woke up with it a little high at 12 mmol so injected 6 units for my breakfast of 38 carbs (4 for the food and 2 correction dose)
However I wanted to drive to the gym and it is too low at 11 am it’s 4.0 mmol and 11.30 am 3.9 even though I ate 23 carbs no insulin.
So had early lunch at 12 noon - again no insulin and ate 30 carbs and even 20 more carbs at 1 pm and still only 5.5 which is too low for the gym. I also feel jittery.
My sugars have always been slightly raised so this is not usual.
I’ve rang my diabetic team and waiting for a reply.
I feel I don’t want to inject insulin at the moment when I eat - anyone else had their sugars or insulin change after a coeliac flare?
