Ok, so I started to take symptoms of a hypo. Checked my blood and it was 6.2, so unlikely to be a hypo as far as I'm aware? Had something to eat, checked blood 2 hours later and now 8.3. I still feel rough, does that suggest.my symptoms aren't diabetic related?

Not necessarily. The hypo symptoms mean your body is dumping adrenaline to trigger an emergency glycogen release from your liver. That may have raised your blood sugar before the first blood test and it kept rising to the second test.

Thanks, so what should I do now?

Could even be something totally unrelated to diabetes. If it happens again, speak to your doc/nurse.

In case it was a hypo, take it easy for a few hours, get a good meal, go light on any insulin, particularly correction doses. If you don't feel better by bedtime it probably wasn't a hypo. Any other shock or sudden stress? That can cause the same feeling.

Shock or sudden stress? Hmm, was trying on clothes and faced a final bill of £135 ...would that count?

OK. To be honest, I doubt it was a hypo then, unless your levels have been really high lately and beginning to come down ? How is your BP ? Could be many things. Hopefully it was a one-off. As I said before, if it happens again, have a chat with your doc. Take care.

I was diagnosed late February, my blood was 26, H1bA1 88. Latest was 8.1, or 65. And no, first hasn't missed a decimal point. Yesterdays blood was close to 5 at lunchtime. I've been told that the tablets I'm on won't give me a hypo, but I'm so new to this I don't understand what my body's telling me.
