Hi,
You really need to test your ketones. You can buy Ketostix otc from chemists which you pee on and match up the colour the strip turns to the key on the side of the tub of strips. If you are indeed Type 1, you are at risk of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) which is caused by a relative lack of insulin. This will cause you to develop ketones that show up in urine. Your Type 2 medications will be of no help in this situation unfortunately. If you a start feeling nauseous, have stomach pain, headache, very thirsty, peeing a lot, lethargy, a 'pear drop' smell on the breath, please get medical help without delay. DKA is a medical emergency, you cannot afford to take a chance.
Let us know how you get on.
Regards
Sue
