Hi, I registered to ask a question on behalf of my mum (type 2), but while I'm here I thought I would ask if any of you could spare 5 minutes to send a card, letter, little gift or email to a girl called Alice. She is 14 and a type 1 diabetic (on a pump) which would of been bad enough but in Feb 08 she was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma, she has had a lot of treatment since including a transplant but the cancer hasn't gone away. Her sister Milly also has a medical condition and is having surgery this month in Great Ormond Street (Alice is currently in Alder Hey).
Lack of choice of insulin for newly diagnosed patients.
Dog owners who let their dogs poop in the street-a hazard for most, but worse if you're visually impaired!
Having RP
Will get on to it, my kids will too, have a son same age as Alice. My eldest son Matthew spent a long time in GOS being treated for Ewing's Sarcoma when he was 9. He's been lucky to survive it twice. It's a terrible time for any family, and very isolating.
We were told Matthew was terminally ill when he relapsed at 11, but pioneering treatment saved him; God willing same will be true for Alice.
Jus
Hi Jus, thanks ever so much for supporting Milly and Alice. I'm sorry to hear what Matthew has been through, I'm so pleased he has come out the other side though.
