Hello All,

Hope we are all well.

I was wondering, since we (all of us) have be come type 2 and type 1 diabetic.

How long does to take for Cuts, Bumps and Bruises to heal fully?

Have you noticed that it takes longer or is your healing time the same as before diabetes?

Cheers

Who knows?
When I was young I used to heal quickly, then I got old and heal more slowly, then I got T2 but I don't think I heal even more slowly.

Then I suppose it depends on how good your control is.

It might just be age related, but I would definately say that scrapes and bruises DO take longer to heal than they used to. I was diagnosed about 12yrs ago and I am certain I healed quicker way back then... I'm 68 now so that could also be a factor.

Diabetes is said to slow down the heeling/recovery time from cuts, bruises and other trauma to the body.

On a personal level I seem to heal quite quick, split my finger end open last week with a knife and today it's barely visible, even as a child I would recover in a short space of time compared to my siblings.
