Any thoughts on deliciously guilt free bakes as a Christmas treat? I don’t like Keto bakes with a gritty texture. Thank you

Hi @Pixie55 an interesting question and I'll read the answers with interest (need some Christmas treats for my low carbing T2 dad), but would you mind if we changed the title to Deliciously Guilt Free bakes or some such? I'm afraid my first thought when I saw dgf as the title was that some spammers are at it again and I think you'll get more replies with a slightly less abbreviated title.

Are you asking about the keto\low carb products from the company Deliciously Guilt Free who are based in Cambridge? I've been a regular customer since the founder Dan was first making them and would recommend them highly. Would suspect that the gritty texture you don't like may be ones which include coconut chips and or less finely ground nuts? I'd recommend more of the 'Blondie style ones. Check out ingredients and reviews.
Or maybe you mean treats you can make yourself and you are looking for ideas?

Thank you for your replies. I did indeed mean baked goods from the deliciously guilt free website - sorry I was unclear. I like a little low carb treat and sadly the cakes/biscuits I make are only just okay. I think I’ll get a few bits in for Xmas.

I love DGF products. At Xmas they usually make low carb mince pies and Xmas puddings. They already have other Xmas products for sale, the Chrimbo Crumble, they are delicious too and an Advent Calendar.

I like them. I find that if I warm them in the microwave and serve with cream it gets rid of any gritty/sweetener taste. The bakewells are lovely.

Hi again, @Pixie55
Are you confirming it is ok for moderators to change the title as suggested by @EllieM , earlier in the thread?

Hi Pixie, each to their own of course, but I have ordered a couple of times from DGF and each time I found them too sweet. I suppose the only way to find out is to buy something from them.
There are other sites on the web that are good though. Good luck and let us know what you think.

Well I put in an order of deliciously guilt free baked goods and have been woefully disappointed. Obviously a matter of personal taste but the cakes I have tried so far have been so overwhelmingly sweet as to be almost inedible. Maybe I have lost my sweet tooth….. Back to the dodgy home Keto baking!

There is a stone in Viking runes that says: "prepare for opportunity disguised as loss". This may be yours.

Hi my husband is a type 2 and I’ve just made a second batch of chocolate cupcakes he said there very yummy so the recipe is an easy one
100g s/r flour
2 tbsp coco powder mix into flour add bicarbonate in as well
100g marg or butter
1 egg
1 heaped tsp bicarbonate
1 tbsp veg oil
milk to make consistency smoother
and a sugar substitute I use stevia or candarel 2 tbsp
mix marg sugar together then add the egg and half the flour coco bicarb mix and a little milk to a smooth consistency then add oil the rest of the flour mix a bit more milk then separate into 12 cake cases and bake for 12 mins 180-200 oven temp
i also do little no cook lemon cheesecakes which are very refreshing
4 small glass trifle glasses
no sugar digestive biscuits x10 crushed
2 tsp butter
200g soft cream cheese economy is just as good as philli
100g yogurt
1g sugar substitute I use candarel for this
1tsp lemon zest
1 tsp lemon juice from the lemon
3-4 drops of lemon essence
add melted butter to crushed biscuits then divide into glasses place in fridge while there cooling mix all of the other ingredients in a jug or bowl until we’ll mixed then remove glasses and divide cheesecake mix to biscuit use cling film to cover and I generally leave for 2 hours then devour obviously you could grate a little more lemon zest on the tops for twang and you could even use raspberry’s or strawberry’s instead hope this helps I’m not a diabetic but I still find them both very yummy regards dotty
