Since monitoring my BG levels in an attempt to stave off a Diabetes diagnosis, I initially found that I felt better in myself. But not for long, I'm desperately tired (been like that for many months) .

Since moving house my sleep patterns have been all to pot. I;m sleeping for 3 hours or so at a time and then waking, whereas normally I could sleep for England. Usually I sleep 8 - 10 hours and still wake unrefreshed.

I'm just wondering what other folks think and any suggestions?

thank you
D

Hmmmmmm bloods look good, I presume your diet is good? It may pay to go and see the doc as there may be an infection or other problem, even if there isn't it's still good to have a check up every now and then, and I don't mean a diabetes check but a general health check

There's a long list of conditions that can make you tired as well as stress, best that you have a chat with your gp about it.

I think you're right. I've just moved to a new area so have a new doc. I will write things down and pay them a visit.
thanks a lot

See it could be just that moving to a new area, it's very stressful moving let alone to a new area new doctor everything good luck and keep us posted

My depression and anxiety makes me very tired. How I managed a house move I'll never really know... but I did. I'm expecting to implode in the aftermath
But even so, I feel as though there is something else lurking!

I went to the Doctor's yesterday.. I wrote down what I wanted to say to her but forgot to take the list along. (usual story)
The whole experience was stressful and the receptionist didn't help by being short and curt (she was short too, about 5 foot nothing, but that's not her fault) The Doc was ever so understanding. I immediately told her how stressed I was and then suddenly... a nosebleed... (I've only ever had two before in my life) Anyhow, I did ask her about my tiredness and she arranged for me to have blood tests next Monday. The nice thing was, because the receptionist had upset me, the Doc walked me to the desk to make the next aptn for me. I was very grateful. There's not much assistance out there for people with severe nervous conditions.

Are you stressed because you are not sleeping or are you not sleeping because you are stressed?

Sorry to here you are having a tough time!

Glad you've found a decent gp Diamond.

You are quite right, there is next to no support for people with nervous conditions. Sad to say that most mental health professionals take a scathing view of people they class as 'neurotic' and tend to be dismissive rather than supportive.
I feel able to comment, as I'm a qualified mental health nurse who stopped practicing because of this very attitude. I now teach in the hope that I can make students realise how debilitating and life-spoiling anxiety conditions are.
All the best,

Ness x

Do you check you bs when you wake up in the night?

Thanks Pavlos, I think it's the latter. I have been very stressed since arranging a house swap and the move etc, about three/four months of heavy stress. My sleeping patterns have improved somewhat... I've been asleep by about 8pm and waking at 4am which has been better for me. I think my body was adjusting to lower BG levels.

I'm feeling much more hopeful with my new doctors surgery. There are several GPs there and the two I've seen have been very understanding.
