diabetes, balance and metformin

Does the taking of metformin have any relationship to making a diabetic's balance better or worse if it is stopped?

If you are taking Metformin then if you stop using it almost certainly your BS will increase. Metformin works, I believe, in about 3 different ways. It might not make a big difference but it is the first med most Type 2s are given to provide some control over BS beyond diet and exercise.
