So…. Type 2 chap. But recently strange feeling in left foot, toes scrunched, nails stopped growing properly, very sensitive skin, very dry too. ‘Brief’ appt with doctor. He said it was diabetic foot and that I could get free shoes !!!
Slightly flummoxed as to what I should be doing. I know about no bare feet and I’ve been using a skin cream every day. Is there anything else I should be doing. All,I’ve heard from people is you’re probably going to lose your foot !!

You've not lost anything yet! How are your blood sugars doing? Get a podiatrist and pedicure on top of your feet to get the toes looked after and shoes fitted, and if you haven't yet, get your blood sugars back into the normal range. https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html should get your blood sugars back down and hopefully halt the damage that's already being done from progressing further. Maybe B12 supplements could help, (no guarantee) and if possible maybe CBD oil too (nothing weird in there that'll get you stoned or anything).

You can keep that foot. Take good care of it, (don't put it off!!!!) and your blood sugars.
Hugs,
Jo
