diabetics vs recreational drinkers

What would happen if the DVLA required anyone who drank alcohol to test their breath alcohol level twice a day and before driving.
Each year you would have to show 3 months of breath alcohol readings to a doctor and explain that that one that looks a bit high last Saturday was you having two glasses of wine with the wife and yes you knew it would be a bad idea to drive. and the high reading on the thursday ? the same... week before was a wedding and no you stayed in the hotel and didn't drive....
Yes when you drink alcohol you get symptoms... they are as follows. when i feel these symptoms i know its not safe to drive...

Sort of agree but most people don't take background alcohol and quick acting alcohol every time they eat lol ! Good point though. I've often thought we get a bit of a raw deal. A "friend" of mine is currently allowed to drive with no restrictions but is prescribed liquid morphine for pain relief !
