I was Discharged from the Diabetic team, without being told. When they specifically told me,You will see the specialist and after that, you can phone the diabetic team whenever you want for advice.
Than when I called them ,they refused to talk to me,and than i asked them if I was discharged. They said Yes.
I was away on holiday, relying on the fact that if something goes wrong I can always call them. And now thats what they did to me.Its not the first time. The first time ,I was given wrong dosage of medicines.I was supposed to see the specialist, and the diabetic team, cancelled my appontment without telling me.Than they discharged me from the specialist.
Her name is Amy nutritionist of the diabetic team in Salford
They went against the Consultants instructions and caused me a year of endless problems.

Have they discharged you from the hospital? I've never been to the hospital or seen anyone other than the nurse at our surgery, I take it you see the nurse at the surgery?
If you are controlling you BS, then maybe they think there is no need to see you, howevere it does seem abrupt.

Report it to your local HA as there are quite tight national NHS guide lines for treatment of what ever condition you are suffering with and diabetes is no exception. It is their job to ensure your treatment meets a certain minimum standard and if one section is found wanting they will take the necessary action.
I am appalled that a patient can be treated the way you were and so will your HA be!

Whats HA?
what happened I was on Insulin, and I started the LOW CARB HIGH FAT DIET.
than I started to loose 1 kg a week, but my eyesite was going dangerously,So i got a letter from the Diabetic team saying that Pioglitazone cause blindness in certain people. So I called the diabetic team as per my instruction and the specialist said he wanted to see me.
So I went.
He took me off PIOGLITAZON
and started me on Victoza. The instructions where:slowly win off Insulin Lantus, and introduce Viktoza.
Plus to take instead of 500 mg metformin 3 times a day,to take 850 mg 3 times a day.
And all the instructions should be introduced to me through the Diabetic team.
So I told the team, that Metformin was always difficult for me,so if i have to up the dose, top do it slowly. But they got angry and said """""you got to take 850mg metformin immediately, and stop Insulin immediately, and take the highest doose of Viktoza immediatelly.""""""
so i said """"""thats not what the Consultant said """"
response by Sandra and Amy """""He made a mistake """"""""
So I lsten to them thinking a was doing the right thing
The next thing is """"""my sugar is off the roof and i am starting to crave for chocolate ,cakes etc.... when i got rid of it all by LOW CARBING AND HIGH FAT"""""
THE next thing they make the mistake and discharge me from the consultant and themselves.
Now i need to know ,what my rights are. They are the diabetic team for the old Hope hospital
Besides the treatment they gave me,made me so ill, that i had to stop everything and slowly reintroduce my old treatment
INSULIN,
low dosage of Metformin
and Hopefully I am going back on my good LowCarb and High fat diet

It sounds like you have had some dreadful treatment, have you told your doctor about this? I'm sure someone who knows more than me about the protocol will be along to advise.
