Type 1 Disposal of used blood meters

In the past I’ve just removed the battery & disposed of that either at the supermarket or the local tip in the battery disposal containers & put the rest in the general waste bin
I use an accuchek lancet that contained the needles in the barrel so they aren’t exposed they are allowed in the general waste bin along with test strips

Electronic waste at local tip, would be where I would dispose of the meter.

It is likely that meter would be regarded as Waste Electrical Equipment, and Local Authorities have regulations for disposal of that sort of waste.
