DVLA driving licence renewal

I have a 3 year driving licence, which runs out in 2 weeks. I have found if you schedule an appointment with your diabetes consultant 2 months before you receive the renewal letter and get them to say in the clinic letter (if true) that they have no problem with you driving, your eyes are fine and your latest HBA1C the DVLA dont need to write to your GP/Consultant to ask them to fill in the forms. It worked for me 3 years ago, and Ive got my latest clinic letter (of 2 weeks ago) to enclose with the form. Does anyone else do this?

I applied 10 weeks before mine expired and mine expired 6 weeks ago and I'm still awaiting mine all I have is a letter thay are awaiting a report from my doctor and not to worry

I should have said I still take insulin and I'd have had it by now as this is my 7th 3 year one
