E-coli infection

Just been to doctor with recurring urine infection. He says i have an e-coli infection that has been going on since last June! He wants to test my kidneys.
I'm worried, should i be? Can anyone set my mind at ease please?

Hi flyingangle69 don't know that much about it all i know is it's a intestinal infection which if you're immune system is low which diabetics usually are if left untreated can lead to kidney problems that's all i really know best to ask a medical professional to be more informed all the best.
