Enlarged kidneys diagnosis

Hi all I have recently been diagnosed with a large kidneys but the doctor has given me virtually no information.
All he said was diet, lose weight, better control, take ramipril and hopefully things will get better.
Has anyone else been diagnosed with enlarged kidneys and what did your doctor tell you?
Is it safe to join the gym to loose weight?
I've tried to get another appointment with Doc but I have to wait a staggering 25 days.

I would ring the surgery and ask for an emergency appointment. Explain that you are concerned about lack of information and would be happy to voice your concerns with a G.P. via the telephone.
There are several reasons why a kidney is enlarged and you need to know for your own peace of mind. It is unreasonable not to supply you with more information.
